2009-4-26 Japanese style wedding in Hakone Japanese Garden | Saratoga

Michelle and Craig got to be one of my favourite couples, still remember more than a year ago, got Michelle's email asked me to photograph her wedding after she saw her friend's friend's wedding I shot in 2007. Michelle was definitely one exciting bride with lots of thoughts in her head ( and very nervous :P ) . After you see the following pic, you will be impressed also how much effort she put on her wedding day. Lots of lots of details in their Japanese style wedding. The awesome modern Japanese wedding dress, the amazing and super funny Hello Kitty cake from JENSCAKES, the peaceful Hakone Garden located in Saratoga, all these made this wedding so special and memorable. Congratulations again Michelle and Craig, have a good honeymoon in Hawaii :)

2009-4-19 Shooting a wedding in Sonoma with Garvin Tso

It was a HOT HOT day shooting in Sonoma, however, working together with my good friend Garvin Tso is always fun.

It was a really lovely wedding with a kids symphony and more special was that this talented team was conducted by the bride's father. The fun was not only limited to the symphony , but also they hired a live band in the reception, know the band "LIT" ?? They just brought so much energy to the dance floor.

2009-4-6 LIve to shoot, shoot with Chung WORKSHOP (3rd May)

Thanks for everyone's support on my digital photography workshop so far, I will have another 1 day intensive digital photography introduction class on 5/3 Sunday.

A brief description of what the workshop about.... It is a 1 day class (9:30 - 5:30pm) on Sunday 5/3 at my new photography gallery / classroom located in Belmont . This introduction to digital photography class is designed for student who has little experience on using a DSLR ( Digital Single-Lens Reflect camera ) or a beginner in photography.

In this workshop, you will learn all the basic of photography such as ....

1) DSLR camera structure
2) Aperture/ Shutter/ ISO concept and control
3) Concept of depth of field
3) White Balance
4) Usage of different lens
5) How to choose a camera that fits your need
6) Get to know more of your current equipment
7) Basic photo retouching concept
8) Outdoor practise


It is an intimate class for maximum 6 students , we want to keep the class small so that everyone has chance to ask questions and interact, don't we all hate the boring traditional classroom learning environment ??? We all want to learn in a fun and relax way.

Bring your own equipment if you have, but not neccessary as I have three Canon EOS 5D and different types of lens for you to play with and practice.
Class starts from 9:30am , will have a break and we all go out for an hr lunch and then class ends at 5:30pm. The fee is $250 per person.

Former students were all surprised how much they learned in a 7 hrs intensive class with me and it is a real jump start for them.

2009-3-29 Terrance + Amiee + puppy Jack

Here is the story of this "family style" photo shoot session. Here was the conversation of me and my good friend Terrence.

Terrance: "Hey, Chung, let me show you the pic of my new Jack Russell Terrier, on my cell phone."

Chung : "Yeah, Show me"

Chung : "No way, it is not a real dog" (looking at Terrence's cell phone )

Terrance : "IT IS a real dog !!!!"

Chung : "No way, it is not a real dog ! it looks like a toy"

Terrance : "IT IS a real dog !!! He is so funny and cute"

Chung : "Hey, lets go out this sunday afternoon at your place near San Bruno and take some portrait, just have fun."

Terrance : "Really ? Really ? let me call my wife. What color should we wear ? You are the photographer, tell me what should we do, we will just follow. What color should we wear ???"

Chung : "Calm down !

Chung : "I want to make it more casual, simple and clean , why don't you both wear jeans and white shirts"

Terrence : "GOOD, alright, what time on sunday "

Chung : "lets do it 5:30pm this Sunday. I will drive to your place in San Bruno, will just have some fun."
